III International Student Competition of local history mathematical problems for younger schoolchildren


The Department of Primary Education of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology held the III International Student Competition of local history mathematical problems for younger schoolchildren. The competition held remotely. It announced on October 10, 2022. The collection of competitive works held until November 10, 2022. On November 12, the results summed up, the results announced and diplomas sent to the winners of the competition.


90 people (62 applications) attended the competition from 11 universities and colleges in Russia and Kazakhstan. The students made up plot mathematical problems, the plot of which contains local history material covering historical, cultural, climatic, geographical, socio-economic features of their native land. The condition of the competition is that the mathematical content of the tasks should correspond to the program of the school course of mathematics of primary classes. Students independently chose the structure and type of tasks. The solution of the problem, depending on the type, the participants made out actions with an explanation, an equation with an explanation, used diagrams, drawings, etc.


The international jury of the competition brought together both university teachers and schoolteachers, undergraduates of the specialty Primary Education. The Organizing Committee of the competition expresses its gratitude to the members of the jury for their active participation:

It should note that this competition unites teachers and students who are passionate about common interests, promotes:
- to increase students` interest in the traditions, culture and history of their native land;
- development of research, local history, ethnographic activities in the course of drawing up local history tasks;
- education of a patriotic attitude to their small homeland and a careful attitude to the historical and cultural heritage, responsibility for its fate;
- identification, development and support of students who show aptitude for mathematics and its study;
- motivation of students to educational and methodological activities.
