International conference "Writing in the world of the Turks: Latin graphics - the beginning of spiritual renewal" 

On November 10, 2020, on the platform https://meet.google.com/qjk-cmhv-iuf an international online conference was held on the topic "Writing in the world of the Turks: Latin graphics - the beginning of spiritual renewal (Rukhani zhagyru)", organized by the Department of Kazakh language and literature named after S. Kirabayev, Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education, Abai KazNPU.

At the international online conference, the issue of changing the alphabet was considered in various aspects. The issues of Turkey`s transition to the Latin alphabet, which mastered all the advantages of using the Latin alphabet, and Uzbekistan, which immediately after gaining independence, switched to the Latin script, were analyzed.

Foreign guests took part in the online meeting: First Vice-Rector of the International Tourism University "Silk Road" (Samarkand, Uzbekistan), Professor Zhuliboy Eltazarov, Professor of the Turkish University Firat Yerzhan Alkaya, Professor of Kazan Federal University of Tatarstan Alfiya Yusupova, from Jordan State University, Faculty of Foreign Languages assoc. prof., Bagdagul Musa, assistant professor of the Department of Turkology, Kyrgyz-Turkish University Manas Nurdin Useev.

Our university was represented by: Vice-Rector for Research and Digitalization, Academician of KazNANS Sayabek Sakhiyev, Director of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education, Tanzharykova Alua, Head of the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature named after S. Kirabayev, Ilyasova Nagima, professor Kosymova Gulbanu, professor Kalibaeva Kalamkas and also professors, teachers and students of the university and students of Kazan Federal University of Tatarstan and students of Firat University from Turkey.
